Vince Tracy Europe Calling Fridays 2pm
Vince started at Clatterbridge Hospital Radio, Wirral before working for BBC Radio Merseyside. He also made an appearance on Radio 1. He worked on radio in Brittany, France and now syndicates his podcasts to several countries. He worked for the Spanish national broadcaster Onda Cero for 8 years before the company closed their international branch. Vince started podcasting about this time.
Guests on his show range from pop legends Chubby Checker and Brenda Lee to Sir Henry Cooper and Sir Stirling Moss. Politicians, Pop Stars and Sports stars can be found in abundance on Vince’s podcasts.
Vince worked in various sales organisations and was trained by Blue Chip companies. He was Northern Divisional Sales Manager/Sales Trainer for Jenks Brokerage in retail grocery before moving to Cornwall where he studied to become first a Leisure Studies Lecturer then retrained to become a QTS teacher working in all Education sectors in the UK. He studied the influence of radio in society as part of his Leisure degree.
Having worked on the Western Morning News in Plymouth Vince started the Truro News and Trader in 1983 whilst at college at Marjons in Plymouth. He had begun desktop publishing after various work experiences in France and designed and created the paper himself. He has a Leisure Studies Degree and a degree in Philosophy in Education. He has a Diploma in Journalism from the London School of Journalism and a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy. At Cornwall College he taught as a member of the Sports Staff plus organised various YTS Schemes and taught Marketing, Numeracy, Literacy, Communication Skills and English as a Second or Foreign Language.
Earlier years saw him representing the Mersey Shipping League in football before turning to rugby. He played in the Merseyside Showbizz Football team playing regularly with many ex-professional footballers and various celebrities. He is a 2nd Dan in Judo and a qualified Judo Coach having taught the sport for many years.
Vince plays guitar, harmonicas and keyboards and presents Rockin Rupert 50s Cabaret.
This is a fast moving cabaret with stand-up, audience participation, singing and great harmonicas. Played major venues in UK, France, Spain, Tenerife, USA and currently resident on the Costa Blanca working around the Benidorm Hotels. Now working venues along the Costa Blanca.
