Chris Currie presents is a local music show featuring music from Liverpool, Wirral and the Merseyside and playing the best in new music, both signed and unsigned, and classics across the years.

About me:

I live, breathe, eat and sleep music. My dad gave me my first record player when I was about four years old and that was that.

I’ve been a DJ since I was a teenager and feel privileged to make a living doing a job I really enjoy. Back in the day I worked for Radio City hosting outdoor events and road shows, but my first taste of radio was with MFM on Wirral, broadcasting out of their studios in The Old School House in Birkenhead. A brief spell at KCR in Prescot followed on. But after that there was a lengthy hiatus from radio work until I asked to get involved with Wirral Radio, initially to help out with the sound editing, but I soon found myself back presenting. I spent 8 years at Wirral Radio where I was lucky enough to offered the chance to create and present my own local music show. Sadly Wirral Radio went into administration and closed down in 2018 and I moved over to IWFM before being invited to bring my Chris Currie presents show over to Mersey Radio in March 2019.

So here I am doing something that I love and hopefully spreading the love for Liverpool, Wirral and Merseyside bands across the airwaves and finding ears eager to listen and support our talented musicians.

The show airs on Mersey Radio every Monday night between 8.00 and 11.00 pm with a show repeat on Tuesday between 3.00 and 6.00pm

Musicians and bands wishing to submit songs/tracks/music for consideration for airplay should send WAV audio files to the show uploader. Tracks must not be explicit in either language or content. Please also include a short biography including the band line-up
