Frank Carlyle is putting on a must-see show called Echoes of the First World War which will be shown at St. George’s Hall in the Catacombs from 10th to 16th of March. This show will feature some of our local Victoria Cross winners with actors recreating their stories. There will also be poems from some of the war’s soldier poets.
Frank will guide visitors through the depths of the hall telling Liverpool stories of the First World War. From the triumphant passionate start to the realities of war that blasted away any romantic notion and the horrors of modern conflict came to the forefront. The historical talks will be interlinked with promenade performance by some of Liverpool’s best-loved actors.

Mersey Radio is proud to give its full support to the campaign to erect a statue in memory of Brian Epstein. The statue is being created by sculptor Tom Murphy, the man behind the John Lennon statue at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. A charity has now been set up to raise the £70,000 needed to complete the project. Some big names are getting together to sing and record a song which is expected to be available for purchase around March 2014. Read more about it on the Statue 4 Eppy website.
